Pink day!

Today is pink shirt day because lots of people are getting bullied.  Pink day is about not getting bullied and not being a bully.  If I got bullied I will just tell an adult.  We are wearing a pink shirt and it says "I commit to a bully free life."  One day a boy weared a pink shirt and a boy laughed at him.  That is why we have pink day.  I wish we had pink day everyday.  I would be happy.  It reminds us about friends.

On February the 29th it was Pink day because long long ago a boy  went to school wearing Pink.  His friends laughed at him.  But some boys said tomorrow we will wear pink to school so they did.  Pink Day is about someone who got bullied by his friends.  But we will  help him and other people too.  We wear Pink to stop bullies from bullying.

Today is pink day.  Pink day is when everybody wears pink to support anti-bullying.  We have pink day because in 2009 a boy went to school with a pink shirt and he got bullied.  The next day some of the kids in the school wore pink to school. Now all the Elementary schools around the world have pink day.  Pink day is to remind people to be friends.

Pink day is about making friends not bullying people.  If you are a bully stop bullying!  Be nice don't be mean most people in my class are wearing pink!!!!!

Bowling on our 100th day of Grade 2


On February 22nd our class celebrated 100 day with a field trip to BOWLING!  We tried to see if we could get 100 points!!  AND WE DID IT!!  We got a lot more than 100 points!  We had a great time.  When we got back, our teacher challenged us to see if we could write stories of 100 letters or 100 words to tell about our day!!  EVERYONE wrote excitedly and here are some of the stories.  ENJOY!

Today we went to the bowling centre.  It was in Grandview bowling.  We went in to it.  It was dark but suddenly we saw some things that was white on our bodies and it glowed in the dark.  Then somebody said "it's glowing"!  After that our teacher said lets play bowling.
Bowling  - February  22th - Today my whole class went  bowling to celebrate 100 day.  My friend was my partner.  We sat beside her friend.  We went to Grandview to bowl.  The  points we got was 487.  When I rolled the bowling ball it hit the gutter.  So the bowling ball went so slow.  I had to tell a teacher the ball is going too slow.  Where we went  to bowl was at Grandview.  There was a glow in the dark.  We had so much fun.  I hope we can go back there.
Today our class went glow-in-the-dark bowling!  I was so excited when I heard that we were going bowling for one hundred day!  We used their bumper so we could bounce the ball!  I was glad that we didn't use the gutter, because all of our heavy round balls would have been already rolled in the gutter.  I will tell you who was on my team.  I had five bowling people including me.  It was so loud because they were cheering for me.
I went bowling.  Today is 100 day.  Our class went bowling.  On my team was my friend.   Every body had a team.   The ball is heavy.  My points is 101.  It was very fun.

Today my class went bowling.  It was glow-in-the-dark bowling. Nobody had to worry about their ball going into the gutters because we had bumpers.  We went for our 100th day!  All the points on my team combined equalled 480.  The balls were very very very very heavy.  The people on my team were my friends. Nobody got a strike but 1 or 2 people got a spare.  At first the machine on my lane was broken.  But the people that worked there fixed it.  It was fun!

Feb. 27th our class went to bowling.  It was 100th day.  100 day is special because you get to learn and go on field trips.  Me and my partner were on different teams.  I was on a team with 5 people.  Our bowling pin setter won't work so we had to call a lady and she came and fixed it.  I got 72 points.  It was so cool there that I want to go there again.

February 22nd our class went to Grandview Bowling to celebrate 100th day of grade two!  When I got in it was glowing and dark.  Some people even saw their clothes glow in the dark.  My shoes were glowing brightly.  Our team got 480 points all together.  I got 111 points by myself.  I wish I could go again to Grandview Bowling.









Today my class went to Grand view bowling to celebrate 100 day. In there was a league one and a glow one for kids.  We went in the glowing one.  Our team was my friends.  When we started our machine didn't work.  All of our stuff was glowing in the dark.  The ball was as heavy as a giant rock even though it was small.  There were bumpers so we can make it bounce off it.  There was a shiny disco ball on the ceiling.  My team had 180 points.  I'd like to go again.

 






Today is 100 day.  We went to Grandview Bowling.  When we got in there were people bowling already.  We went upstairs to bowl because it was for us to bowl.  It was called glow in the dark.  then we had to take our shoes off because we have to wear our stinky socks.  Then we started to play.  The people that were on my team were my friends.  The points we had was 500 something.  The bowling ball was heavy.  And there was disco.  It was very fun and I wish I can go there again.

Today we went to Grandview bowling. Do you know why we went to Grandview bowling?  Because it is our 100th day of school. When we went I  saw two people playing bowling  but it is not glow- in- the-dark bowling.  It was for big people and the ball was heavy and there were three holes for your fingers to put in .We went upstairs to play bowling.  It was for kids like us. We all had teams and my team was my friends.  We all got eight turns .  That was the greatest 100th day field trip ever!

Today our class (division 14) went bowling at the Grandview bowling place.  We went because it was 100 day at our school!  My teammates were my friends.  We played with the bumpers so the heavy balls would not go into the gutters.  It was glow-in-the-dark bowling.  Everybody in our class was glowing.  My total score was 103.  (I wasn't trying my best).  DO you know what?  There was a disco ball on the ceiling.  The disco ball was turning and shimmering at the same time.  This field trip was the best field trip ever!

A community walk

Our class went on a community walk to sketch the buildings and shops.                                                                                             




Henry and the Bully

Today Peter from B.L.G came to our class to read to us.  The book was called Henry and the Bully.  It is about a bully named Sam, who bullies people.  The one that he was bullying was Henry and his friends.  When Henry was playing soccer with his friends he ran into Sam, and Sam kicked the ball over the fence.  Henry asked ''HEY why did you do that?''  Then  Sam replied back angrily "because I felt like it".   

It was a good book because it teaches us a lesson of not being a bully.  Next week we have pink day that's good also not for bullying.  If you read the story would you like it?   It will teach you a lesson too.

Our class (Div.14)  interviewed their best friends.  Our teacher told us to make this because she wanted to learn more about us.  You can see that we also made little people with friendly words on them. Here are some of the words: trustworthy, loyal, respectful and dependable
On Valentine's day our class brought lots of yummy sweets and fruit and salty food to the classroom.  There were cupcakes, cookies, chocolates, wafers, pink rice crispies, strawberries, bin bin crackers, apples and chips.  We ate a lot and we looked in our Valentine bags.  It was definitely FUN!

More Symphony Stories

    The Symphony

Today our class went to a symphomy. When I  got there a bunch of people had their seats already. The people playing in the orchestra were playing already and the conducter seemed to be introducing the musical instruments to us ( the audience).  The  music they were playing was all based on Peter and the wolf.  The characters in Peter and the wolf are Peter, the bird, the duck, the cat, the wolf, grandfather and the hunters.  Every character is based on 1 instrument.  The strings are Peter, the flute is bird, the oboe is duck, the clarinet is cat, the bassoon is grandfather, the french horn is wolf, and the last are the hunters are the kettle drum/bass drum. After they showed us all that we started Peter and the wolf.  I noticed that the people with the instruments were playing the instruments the way I heard them on the radio. After the performance was done we all clapped. I didn't want to leave.  I wanted the whole thing to start again! The end !

Today my class went on a field trip. We went to a  symphony to listen to the Peter and the wolf . When I got in the symphony it was so so pretty. I sat beside my friend  when it started.  I almost fell asleep and I almost fell on my friend.  Then when I almost fell onto my friend the person who was talking woke me up.   And when the person told us the  story, in the part that the wolf ate the duck, he faked cried and blew his nose with a paper towel.  It was so funny my whole class laughed.

Once there was a boy named  Peter.   Peter went to hunt the wolf.   The duck wanted to swim and the wolf ate the duck and  Peter's dad took Peter home.  And Peter got the wolf.  And the hunter shoot everywhere!  Peter said stop!  Peter said I got the wolf.






The Symphony

Today my class went to the Symphony.  There was a lot of people.  My teacher told us to sit in the front.  Later she told us to sit the back.  The people on the stage were practicing to get ready for us.  Soon the lights all turned off and then the conductor said his name.  He said that he will play a song for us.  Then the people on the stage played a song.  Next he said that the people on the stage will play Peter and the Wolf for us.  The characters were: Grandpa, Peter, Bird, Duck, Hunters, and the wolf.  They played so good.  If you went to the Symphony would you like it?  I know I did.  I wish we could go again!

Today   my  class  went  to  the symphony.  When  I  got  in  to  the  symphony  they  were  practising.  Then it was time to see Peter and the Wolf.  The music with like harmony.  Peter played the strings.  And the bird played the flute but the cat was the clarinet.

Today our class went to the symphony to see Peter and the wolf with music.  When I got in the symphony it was lovely because the walls are gold coloured.  After I saw the lovely walls,  me and my class went to find seats.  When I sat down all of the people who was going to play in the symphony was playing.  This is what the people was playing for: Peter was the strings, the wolf was the french horn, the grandpa was the bassoon, the duck was the oboe, the bird was the flute, the cat was by the clairnet and the hunters were by the kettle drums and the bass drums.  When they played it sounded great!  When I am grown up I would like to play in the symphony.

A House in the woods

Today Jenniffer read us a book about two Pigs a Bear and a Moose, trying to build a house.  ( By the way Moose thought of that) They called the beavers to helped  build a house for the two Pigs and the Bear and the Moose.  The beavers said that they will only do it for peanut butter sandwiches.... so they said they will give the sandwiches for the beavers.  If I were going camping I wouldn't want to meet a Moose or a Bear but I have met a deer every day when I went camping. I bet if you read this book you will like it.

Making Stone Soup

Today we were making stone soup.  First we cut the veggies.  Then we put them in a pot  Ms. Quon brought in.   I brought in noodles, potatoes, and onions.  We are going to eat our soup at lunch.  We will also eat hamburgers.  We  made it with a stone.   We do not need a stone to make stone soup!  Everyone in my class brought somthing in.  I have not tasted it yet, but I will not tell you what it tastes like  anyways.   I think it will taste yummy.  I can not wait until lunch time.  I  just smelled it.  I know it will be delicious  soup!  I know it is delicious.  I am going to have seconds of hamburgers if I can.  When I went into the kitchen the first thing I did was waft the soup.  The soup was almost up to the rim.  It was smelling delicious.  I will love the soup so much!

Today Ken from BLG came to our class to read to us. The book was called Rollo and Ruff. It was about a cat named  Rollo.  When  he was sitting on his rug he saw  little bits of his rug and his red ball.  Then he called  LFB to see what he has to say.   If you want to know what LFB means,  it means "little fluffy bird."  We will tell you who chewed Rollo's rug.  It was a rat.  His name was Ruff.   He was so hungry that he ate Rollo's rug and little red ball.  The little rat did not want to  sleep with his family so Rollo and  the little bird built a new nest from Rollo's rug.  Then the little rat had ... a home!  Did  you like the story, because we liked it?!
