Excerpts from our "Winter Newspapers"

                


After our winter holidays we decided to write our newspapers about our winter holidays.  We did that instead of writing in our journal because our teacher wanted us to do a different type of writing.
Here are some of our newspapers...

 Kung Fu Panda

At home I watched a movie.  It was called Kung Fu

Panda 2.  It was a bit scary.  There was a peacock

named Shen .  He was banished from the village 

because he made black fireworks.  When Po was 

fighting the bad wolves, his tummy shook because

he was hungry.  I laughed and laughed!  At the

end Shen died because he cut the ship.

 



I typed about the star

I saw a sparkly star when I was

walking. So one night I typed about 

the star.  When I was finished I

drew the star and then I

coloured  it. I made a mistake

so I tried to erase it but I 

erased the typing so my

brother tried to help me

but it did not work. 

I screamed at my brother.

 


  The messy house

On December  the 28^th I  cleaned

 the house.   It was a mess

because it had a lots of things in the

 house .  The  table was full of things.

The dinner table was full of things .

The  couch was full of things . So

I have to clean the whole house by

myself. I was so tired and I couldn't move.




The blister I got when I was

skating at Hillcrest

One day I went to Hillcrest to skate. 

When we got there my dad tied my

skates and then I went on the ice. 

After a few minutes my dad came on. 

After about 10 minutes I remembered

I was wearing no socks and then about

2 minutes later my feet hurt. 

That didn't go very well.




Mount Baker

I went to  Mount Baker for

a week. There was a swimming

pool.  There was a mini hot tub.

I went into the hot tub.  It

was burning when I first got in.

But after it felt nice.

Britannia Swimming Pool

At Britannia Swimming Pool I went in the water and it was cold. There was a water slide. I felt happy. Then I felt scared.

Cleaning the sidewalk

On January the 1^st I helped someone clean the sidewalk. My mom's friend's dad helped me. We used a hose and a broom. I was standing up holding the hose to wash the dirty things away. My mom's friend's dad used the broom to clean the floor. Before we used the hose and the broom it was very dirty.

 

Daddy’s House

I went to daddy’s house.  We watched Green Lantern on his computer.

On Christmas Eve me, my sister, and my brother were decorating the tree with lots of stuff.  We did not put a regular star on top.   We  put a glass star!  We decorated it with lots of colors like blue, green, black, and red.  When we plugged the lights in, it made all different Christmas music.

 

Shopping on New Years

On New Years I went to Metrotown. There were so many people that I got squished with my sister. When I got squished I told the person to “STOP” and she stopped squishing me. Then my aunt said “Let's go to Foot Locker”. So we went down the stairs to Foot Locker. When we went in, we went to the kids' shoes to find me a shoe and there were no sizes for me. So we went back upstairs.

 

Baking

Me, my brother and my mom made banana loaf -  a delicious smell of banana. My hands got full of mashed bananas. I mixed and mixed until it was ready to go in the oven! The great smell came again, I watched it steam and when I tasted it, it tasted Delicious!

 

Cleaning the House

On December the 30^th, me and my sister cleaned the house. It was dusty when I wiped the t.v. It looked clean and new because it was shiny. When I was done wiping the t.v. My sister asked me to wipe her room's door. Then I said, “Yes”.

 

Kick boxing

On Friday in day camp my group went to kick boxing. They told us how to kick box. First we use our hand to kick box. Number two, he told us to use our

feet to kick box.  It was hard, but when we used our hands to kick box it was

easier.

Kickboxing

 On Friday   I went to Kickboxing.  They taught our group to use our hand to hit and our feet to kick.  Then they hold the board and we hit it.

 

The Countdown to 2012

On New Year's Eve I watched the

countdown to 2012!

 

Shopping At Future Shop

I went to Future Shop with my whole family and my mom bought the camera for my Grandma. My mom buy the battery for my Grandma and then my Grandma said “I have a battery at my cubbie”.



 

Shopping at Safeway

I went shopping at Safeway.  I bought lots of Christmas stuff.  We bought ornaments and more.  I found some baby food for my brother and sister and lots of stuff for my brother and sister.  It was so much fun!

 

Opening Presents

On Christmas I ran downstairs and I took one look around and ran upstairs and went on the bed and jumped on mommy's bed and my brother's bed and screamed “BROTHER... MOM!!!! Wake up!” And then we opened the presents. I got a 3DS!!!!

 

Reading

On December  21^st  I read  a book  called Dora .  It was a very long book .  It told me all about walking and playing and sharing .  I read the book again and again because  I enjoyed  it.
